Despite social media platforms being headquartered on U.S. soil, the companies can create their own rules and guidelines, as the are legally viewed as a private business. This means that the U.S. Constitution does not apply to communications conducted on social media. Today’s social media has become the primary means of global communication, forcing reliance on the developers, and compliance from its users.
