The founders of America who contributed to the drafting of the U.S. Constitution alongside the Declaration of Independence facilitated the liberties which many take for granted today. Although the founders were Christian-Rationalists, they sought to create a state of power which would diminish and ultimately evict religion from the minds of Americans.
