The 12-Day War: Diplomatic Peace in the Middle East
The 12-Day War is now officially over, marking a significant new era of ceasefire between the rivaling nations of Israel and Iran.
On June 23rd, 2025, President Donald Trump announced over Truth Social; “CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!” (Truth).
Trump’s presidency and the complete vestment of his electorate resides in these executive decisions to procure peace. The common sense of Trump’s administration, including Vice President J.D. Vance, has long advocated the traditional role non-interventionism, established by America’s Founding Fathers.
Rather than escalate the conflict into detriment, Trump has pronounced a ceremonial conclusion to the war; thereby mediation an amicable resolution for both nations. Trump wrote “I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, ‘THE 12 DAY WAR.’” (Truth). Trump’s words facilitate a bilateral alliance forged on realism, not by any alliance or collective. It is up to the nations to sort out their issues, and Donald Trump is clearly mapping out the blueprints for what needs to be done; ahead of his administration.
Now, America remains its progress toward its traditional role as the peaceful diplomatic hegemon; “God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!” proclaimed an enthusiastic Trump. Scripture depicts the method to find consensus of man, no matter their differences. The Old Testament Prophet Isaiah expounded his prophesy; that “[t]he LORD will mediate between nations and will settle international disputes. They will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will no longer fight against nation, nor train for war anymore,” (Isaiah 2:4; NLT). Another translation reads God will “provide arbitration for many peoples,” (CSB); while a third translation states God “shall judge between the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples;” (ESV). Nonetheless, God has brought together unlikely nations, under the pretext of America’s contemporary president. Taking a step back and observing, it is clear Who is maintaining the global state of peace. And it is not any politician, elected official, nor foreign leader; but God Himself at work before us.
Now, two millennia later in 2025, God is still uniting nation’s leaders from diverse religious backgrounds to act righteously in His name. The 12-Day War, id est the conclusion of conflict, was facilitated by President Donald Trump, his administration, and the backing of the American nation that adamantly protects both personal worship and religious plurality.
Now, the burden of responsible geopolitical operation is endowed to the rivaling leaders of the nations of Israel and Iran. While it’s impossible to force personal faith, everyone stands accountable to their own personal obligation to God; independent of worldly externalities. Comporting with God’s will is an essential component that all world leaders, and their administrations, must address at some point during their existence.
In sum, the 12-Day War displays the understanding between both nations that there exists a higher power that cannot be contested; one that demands the effort of peace and rationality—despite the international state of anarchy, alongside our fallen state of depraved self-interest. Therefore it is essential that nation’s leaders continue to recognize that there is a larger purpose to the design of this world and the political conflict that persists. The 12-Day War marks a geopolitical conflict remedied by diplomacy. Its treaty stands with precedent, thereby upholding the nations’ revised contemporary bilateral relations.
