Biden's Radical Rhetoric Marked Trump for Assassination
Joe Biden’s radical rhetoric marked Trump for assassination. Whether subliminally deliberate or carelessly negligent, the sitting president Biden (1) polarized his political opposition; (2) marked Trump as the single threat to our Constitutional Republic, and the posterity of democracy; (3) deemed Trump as a radical fascist dictator, alongside the entire MAGA movement; (4) warned Americans that Trump would deprive citizens of civil rights, (5) placed him in direct the “bullseye.” The Associated Press reports, Biden remarked during a private call with donors, after his failure at the presidential debate; that it was “time to put Trump in the bullseye,” (AP). Biden supported this claim in an interview with Lester Holt on NBC News on Monday, July 15th, 2024. According to NBC News, “Biden said it was a ‘mistake’ to use the word” but defended his rhetoric by claiming that “it was merely a figure of speech” and “Trump is the one who has mainstreamed violent rhetoric,” (NBC). Trump was publicly condemned for the events that occurred during his speech at the White House on January 6th, 2021. Trump’s speech did not incite snipers to attempt to assassinate the President. Should Joe Biden face the same level of scrutiny for his careless words to the public, that led to an assassination attempt—leaving an American citizen dead, and others wounded? How are violent civic reactions to political rhetoric different under these circumstances?
A Transcript of the interview:
HOLT: On a call a week ago you said, “It’s time to put Trump in the bull’s-eye.” There’s some dispute about the — the context, but I think you appreciate that words matter —
BIDEN: I didn’t say cross-hairs. I was talking about focus on. Look, the truth of the matter was what I guess I was talking about at the time was there was very little focus on Trump’s — agenda.
HOLT: Yeah, the term was “bull’s-eye.”
BIDEN: It was — it was a mistake to use the word. I didn’t mean — I didn’t say “cross-hairs.” I meant “bull’s-eye” I meant focus on him. Focus on what he’s doing. Focus on — on his — on his policies. Focus on the number of lies he told in the debate.
Here, Joe Biden externalized a subliminal, and passive command. His words implied that someone physically place a bullseye on President Trump. America is a nation of 336 million citizens; thus 336 million chances that one citizen may strive to target that “bullseye.” Biden’s entire incumbency, he has "warned" Americans about ultra-right MAGA extremists; threats to our democracy; and violent insurrections. Thus, he has invoked a state of fear into the American people; whereby those with conflicting solutions to evident problems are deemed physical threats. Here, a radical partisan actualized Biden’s distinctly hateful rhetoric; attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump. Whilst free speech ought to be free, Biden is the president of the United States of America; not the press. Politicians should be mindful of their words, especially when speaking to entities that might consider such alternative measures. What Joe Biden conducted in secret, was exposed in the light of the public square. Joe Biden’s words marked Trump for an assassination attempt. Yet the sitting president refuses to take any level of responsibility for his actions. As it is written, scribed by John in the New Testament; “[f]or everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God,” (John 3:20-21; ESV). God’s eternal words remain true, even in our contemporary polity. We must be mindful of our actions both in private and public; no matter our positions, our efforts, words, and beliefs will find their way into the public court of opinion.
Joe Biden has worked for decades to undermine the sovereignty of the working-class citizens in this country. Biden’s innocuous position of fragility shown during his incumbency ought not supplant consideration of his persistent malevolent intentions to the posterity of America. The President of the United States of America must be diplomatic on the global stage; not deliberately biased, driven by personal emotions. Joe Biden referred to Russian President Putin as “That Butcher, Putin,” in a Campaign Event in Detroit, Michigan on July 12th, 2024. Ambiguously maleficent rhetoric touted by the sitting president, during times of national crises; is likely to rouse mentally disturbed individuals already on the brink of a nervous breakdown. The shooter and his accomplices were activated by Biden’s verbiage, fearing that a Hitlerian dictator would overthrown our Constitutional Republic. But Biden uses this same language to describe Presidents of foreign nations. Diplomacy requires neutrality between nations to ensure a state of peace for the benefit of both of its citizens; and the future of humanity.
The American people need on a competent leader to promote the pursuit of purpose and invoke personal vigor. Yet when our nation’s president claims himself to fear some threat to our Republic, the people look to formulate their own solutions. Some resort to violence, believing they have no other alternative. Others, are intercepted and coerced by the permanent bureaucracy, and politically weaponized to commit unthinkable acts. But America’s current administration facilitates wars across the world; denounces foreign leaders by name; colludes with concerning international entities; and places hegemony over the individual liberties of their own population. At that point, the only threat that the Establishment can perceive are those who threaten the monopoly of power over their encroaching ubiquitous bureaucracy. Thus, we must elect officials that directly oppose their agenda. Donald Trump and J.D. Vance seem like a great start. In the meantime, America must desist further notions of division, and reject any actions of violence, without exceptions. Together, we can unite again America.
